Hot Take Tuesday: Being Content With Being a Consumer

I’m a storyteller by nature — photo, video, design, music. It’s what I do for a living, and it’s how my brain’s wired. I love creating things… but it also means I’m rarely off.

Even when I’m out riding routes or camping, I catch myself over documenting, or mentally storyboarding a reel. It’s like my mind refuses to clock out — always turning play into work.

But lately, I’ve been reminding myself: it’s okay to just be a consumer.

The off-road world is full of people hustling — manufacturers, influencers, content creators, and even folks like me who can’t resist building something around their passions. But not everything has to become a brand or a business. Sometimes, it’s enough to just enjoy it.

I’m learning to lean into that. To appreciate the gear, the trails, and the lifestyle without trying to monetize every moment or document every mile.

Because sometimes the best creative reset… is to stop creating for a bit.

One day I might step deeper into this space — maybe with an idea I believe in enough to bet the farm on. Until then, I’ll keep doing what I love: driving, exploring, and taking it all in.
