We live in a time where everything begs to be shared.
If you didn’t film it, did it even happen?
As a creative — photo, video, design — I get it. Capturing the moment is second nature. But sometimes I have to remind myself: not every moment needs an audience.
Some of my favorite memories on the trail were never recorded.
The fog lifting off camp in the morning. The sound of rain on the rooftop tent. That one perfect sunset nobody else saw. Those are mine — and that’s enough.
There’s freedom in not turning every adventure into content. When the camera’s off, the experience feels more alive. It’s not curated, it’s not performative — it’s just real.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sharing stories and photos. But every now and then, it’s good to take a break from the lens and let the moment breathe.
Sometimes, the most meaningful adventures…I guess you have to be there.
